Summer Camp
Camp D-Bar-A
(July 14-20, 2002)

At Camp

This summer camp experience had been eagerly anticipated for quite some time, especially by many of the adult leaders who had been here in their youth. Like father, like son -- a good time for fun and rememberances.

The Campsite

As is tradition at most summer camps, each troop is required to put up and arrange its own tents, supplied by the camp. This camp is no exception. Leave it to our troop youth leadersh, though, to continue troop tradition by connecting 3 tents together in a lounge arrangement. Once a Spongebob, always a Spongebob! There were even attempts made to outdo the retired Troop Pyro. LOoks like the new Scouts are well on their way to accomplishing just that.

Shooting Sports

Several troop members had fun at the rifle range during the week, many of whom earned their Rifle Shooing merit badge. There were even a couple of our Scouts who worked on Archery merit badge as well.

Happy Trails to You!

One of the highlights of this particular summer camp is the opportunity to take an afternoon trail ride or, if one is more determined, earn Horsemanship merit badge. Needless to say, this was one of the more frequently visited areas of camp by our Scouts.
